I loved the hotel Richmond oceanfront, one of my best stays in MIami... From the service to the cleanliness, this hotel is my favorite!
Lilly from New York City
My sister and I stayed at the hotel not expecting much. However, to our delight, the hotel was awesome. It was very clean and very nice. It was closed to many restaurants and places to have fun. Great place
5 Stars on Hotels.com!
My wife and I spent four nights at the Richmond. It was an exceptional experience. We had an amazing ocean front room which was very nicely appointed. The beachfront informality of the property made for comfortable access to the beautiful pool, and the beach. I am a dermatologist and there was some nice shade around the perimeter of the pool. But for the sun worshipper there was plenty of that as well. The staff was always at work maintaining the property under the watchful eye of the general manager, Stuart Weintraub who runs a tight ship. Finally, I liked that the hotel has been owned by the same family, the Herberts, for many many years. It's not the Ritz-Carlton, but its the perfect beachfront property.
WOW! 5 stars on TripAdvisor!
Good: I like the fact the it was in a great location to beach, the decor of the hotel/room was nice, the staff & housekeeping was available when needed.
They were friendly all in all it was a great experience I would definitely choose this hotel again.
Bad: There wasn't anything I did not like or disagree with.

Art Deco Gem
Staying at this hotel give you the feeling of staying at a private resort. it is right in the middle of the south beach activity, but the minute youwalk in the door is is instant relaxation. Gustavo runs the Veranda Resturant/ Bar/ Pool service and he makes you feel as if you are part of the family. He is there from morning until the end of happy hour. The breakfast is great, the lucnches are unique twists on sandwiches and wraps and he has personal recipe fruit drinks with the umbrellas that my wife loved. This hospitality is surrounded by wonderful art deco architecture and decor. You get the authentic feeling that this is decorated from someone who was there, not a new wave designer's impression.

Just returned from a wonderful and fun time in South Beach.
Our first time staying at the Richmond, but certainly not our last. The staff was so nice and helpful. We were close to everything and the beautiful beach just a few steps away!! We also enjoyed the hot tub and the pool!! Thanks Richmond for a wonderful first time trip to South Beach!!

and great value! a wonderful art deco hotel with a historical touch. just a few blocks from lincoln road and on the widest, best part of the beach. the breakfast and lunch menus are varied and the quality and quantity of the food (and drink) were great with gus and his staff providing wonderful hospitality with the food. staff were very helpful and familiar with the area. the pool is inviting and is surrounded by a beautiful tree lined area leading to the ocean. one can enjoy part of history at the richmond in a warm family environment.

Great little get away on South Beach!
The Richmond is a quaint 1940s boutique hotel in the heart of Miami Beach. My wife and I stayed there for a "get away from it all" weekend. Our room had a wonderful view overlooking the pool and ocean. The décor and furnishings are era-appropriate and give a great feel. The pool area is very clean and relaxing. The hotel is right on the beach! The kitchen is small but Gus and his staff can make about anything and every meal we had was excellent. The atmosphere is like you are staying with friends in a big house. This probably because the Richmond is still owned by the family that built it 70+ years ago. We would highly recommend this hotel for a quite (adults only) get away.

Perfect South Beach getaway!
Good: The location of this hotel is top notch. I appreciate that they do not have loud pool parties. If you want to party head to Ocean Drive- so close!
Location Tip: Absolutely fabulous location. Within walking or biking distance of Ocean Drive, Lincoln Road and Espaniola Way as well as the beach- no road to cross.
This is a beautiful art deco hotel. What makes it so wonderful is the staff. So friendly and accommodating. I have been twice and loved it both times. I had breakfast each morning near the pool- thank you chef Gustavo! The location is wonderful- close to everything and yet an oasis of relaxation. Thank you to everyone at the Richmond Hotel. Stuart- you are doing a fabulous job. I can tell you love it!

First Great location - close to the sea and promenade 2, pool great third Nice garden 4th Friendly staff 5. Good breakfast - several options
5 Stars on Orbitz: just in!
For the location it is excellent for the price. The staff is so nice and friendly and makes sure all your needs are met. It is very comfortable and spacious. Most places are walking distance it is the center for everything clubs, restaurants, and the beach. Some places you may have to catch a cab to travel a small distance. I read some other reviews and it was better than I had expected. This is a great hotel and I loved my stay.
A 5-Star TripAdvisor review: Thank you so much!

Quiet even in Spring break week. Pleasant, convenient area of South beach - a real find!

Very comfortable and friendly but maintaining the stylistic ambiance of SoBe.
Very clean and chic!!

The Richmond is an older hotel that is very well kept. It had everything we needed for our long weekend stay. We didn't have a car and didn't even need one. There is plenty within walking distance. The hotel staff was very friendly and most importantly the hotel was immaculate. I would not hesitate to book this hotel again if we travel back to the Miami Beach area.

Great South Beach hotel
Great location. Beautiful pool and grounds leading right to the beach and boardwalk. Great small hotel feel in the Art Deco stile. This is our new South Beach destination.

A magical gem, a cornucopia of majesty
Location Tip: In the heart of SoBe in the epicenter of Collins, Minutes away from Lincoln Row.... Liquor store across street, Walgreens three minute walk
I travel all over the world. I am in Miami often. Ultra, music conferences, big big events. The Richmond is like your own utopian hidden gem. A place you don't want to tell anyone about, so it can be your own secret hideaway. There are no babies crying, no beer guzzling Mansion neanderthals, no hotel nonsense that comes with many establishments. I AM MESMORIZED. I will be a long time customer. From the cook who has been there is it was years, to the pleasant housekeeping staff, the front desk crew and Dennis who are so chill and laid back and the manager all top notch. Its a weird vibe there, almost so laid back itd as if you own the place. They let you kind of run the show so to speak. No one pressures you, there isn't housekeeping banging on doors at nine am. Its so relaxing and the pool outside, like an island oasis surrounded by palm trees is priceless with your own private beach entrance too boot.

Very nice, small boutique hotel with extremely friendly and accommodating staff. My husband and I stayed a couple nights and loved the location and convenience to the beach and shopping areas. The rooms were clean and basic and the bed was comfortable. It's great for people who are active and out during the day/evening, and need a nice, good value place to sleep, with caring staff. We would definitely stay there again.

And so say both of us
Before we came to stay at the Richmond I was still a little unsure we had made the right choice for our holiday as although there were many positives there were occasionally negative comments on this site. We've stayed at many hotels including some fancy resort hotels but as we were spending Christmas and New Year in Miami Beach we were hoping for a friendly atmosphere, somewhere not too impersonal where we would feel welcome and relaxed. The Richmond didn't disappoint. It was perfect and we would like to echo all the previous positive comments. Staff, location, facilities, service, food. We got exactly what we were hoping for for the entire two weeks. It only remains to say a massive Thank You to everyone who made our Christmas and New Year very special indeed.Posted on on 1/7/13
Another 5-Star TripAdvisor review January 2013!
It has taken me a little while to write this review because we have been working our way back to Australia. We stayed at the Richmond Hotel on our way back from Puerto Rico and booked 3 rooms, one each for my adult children and their partners and one for my husband and I.
We all find our minds wondering back to your hotel reminicsing on what a fabulous stay it was. Your service is second to none and all were extremely welcoming. We have stayed at some of the biggest hotels in the world and it was so nice to have such personal service.
The hotel is spotless and if we needed something it was delivered in a flash. Laying around the pool was like being in a scene of an Agatha Christie novel, with all little sub plots- very exciting.
From the attentive door people, to the pool cleaners, your staff are something to be proud of in a world were hotel staff are becoming almost robot like.
“Excellent hotel for a young couple on a budget”
A 5-Star TripAdvisor review January 2013
We really enjoyed our stay at the Richmond
- excellent location right on the beach, really handy and secure valet parking (which we thought was definitely worth the charge), and our room was a good size and very clean and modern. The staff were lovely and the art deco style of the building was very charming! Excellent value for money considering the location and standard. The pool area at the back was really nice too!

“Best overall in that price range.”
October 2012 was my second stay at the Richmond. My husband and I visit florida every year usually in October. We have stayed at hotels with ratings from 3-5, and the Richmond is the only one we have stayed at more than once. The thing that stood out the most was the staff. Staff was so warm and helpful and so friendly you almost forgot they worked there. I especially appreciate Gustavo the head chef/owner of The Veranda, the little eatery down by the pool. Suggestion try Gustavo's turkey avocado wrap it is to die for. Although I am a beach bum, the pool area was clean, quiet, and inviting. The rooms were clean. The new manager of the hotel, was always within sight, and very acomodating. My husband works for the Ritz Carlton in NY, so we once stayed at the Ritz C in south beach. We found the staff polite but cold. Who needs that on vacation. We will definitely stay at the Richmond again next year.
“Just what we needed !”
Have been to SoBe many times, and many levels of hotels. This one was just what we needed... nice, clean, with a pool, and direct beach access... and a very good value. Upon arrival we were genuinely welcomed at the door, and the front desk. And, lucky to get an upgraded room.
Great location, nice pool, warm spa pool, and great to walk out the back to the beach. For this time of year, a great combination of ocean time and pool time (ocean was warm, but air cool, so great to just head back to the warm spa.
Nice and polite pool service, no pressure, but we definitely enjoyed being spoiled at times by ordering poolside.
Short walk to everything on Lincoln Road and Ocean Drive.
Completely enjoyed the place, and the retro-real-look.
Would go back in a heartbeat.

Lovely hotel - great location!
This hotel is a gem. I had a junior suite, it was a little small, but everything was spotless and nicely decorated. The service was friendly and fast. The hotel pool lounge is great and the hotel itself is in a perfect location for access to the beach and also the goings on in South Beach. I would stay here again. Really enjoyed it!!
A five-star Expedia recommendation:
A Gem in Miami Beach
We just arrived home from a wonderful, long weekend stay at The Richmond, a beautiful Art Deco boutique hotel in the heart of Miami Beach (Collins Ave just a short walk from Lincoln Road).
The accommodations were delightfully updated, but retained the flavor of the deco theme. The staff was most accommodating, from Marco at the front door, to Ismael at the front desk, to Stuart Weintraub the General Manager, and Ramon at the dining room. Every need was met with a smile and an offer for further assistance. The pool area was very comfortable with direct beach access to a private, "manned" cabana area. My wife and I highly recommend this delightful Miami Beach "treasure." Enjoy your stay.

Great location, great hotel, great staff
I just spent six nights at Richmond Hotel and I truly say that it is one of the best charming hotels in Art Deco District. Ismael at the front desk is very helpul and his collegues do your best to make your stay very comfortable. The swimming-pool is a real one, very clean with view on a direct access on the beach. You can have a nice Greek salad at the restaurant with wiew on the swimming pool at lunch time (closed for dinner) at a very good price.
For sure I will come back next year.
